This examination is currently offered by their sister organisation OCR in the UK, where it is the most popular IT user qualification in the UK with more than two million entries and represents the benchmark qualification in this field.

Vendor Units

OCR CLAiT include optional vendor units, e.g. BBC Becoming Webwise, Certiport Internet Computing Core Certificate (IC3) and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS). CIE does not offer these options at the moment, but talks with Certiport/Microsoft are planned. However, following successful completion of a BBC Becoming Webwise, Certiport IC3 or Microsoft Office Specialist test, candidates are able to claim an equivalent CLAiT unit from within the CLAiT suite.

Flexible Options

New CLAiT, CLAiT Plus and CLAiT Advanced can be tailored to individual needs, progressing skills and helping learners to meet the demands of the modern home and office.

With all levels of CLAiT 2006, candidates have the choice between single units, a certificate (core plus two optional units) or a diploma (core plus four optional units).

Suitable for all abilities from complete beginners to confident IT users, CLAiT features clear progression routes and plenty of choice.
